bARBARA DELMAS, CO-President

Barbara is an alumna of S.t Joseph School. She has two children currently in grades 3 and 4. Barbara and her husband, Manny, continue to take an active role in St. Joseph School. Manny is in his third year on the School Board, second year serving as Secretary. Barbara graduated from Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island with a B.A in Administration of Justice. Barbara has been a class mother for the past three years and served on the Executive Board as Secretary for the 2015-2016 school year. 

VIRGINIA BARONE, Co-Treasurer

After a successful 20 year career in media planning and buying Virginia decided to really challenge herself by becoming a full time mom and part time media consultant. A life long resident of Garden City with a short Manhattan hiatus, Virginia is a St Joe's alumnus who is glad to see her son John enjoying his time here as much as she did. Virginia has been part of the St Joe's PTA community for three years, handling the Christmas Boutique and most recently serving as class mom for John's second grade year in 2015-16.

Paula McGovern, Co-Treasurer
Garden City resident, Paula McGovern is an active supporter of charitable and other organizations in the local community. Paula, who holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in mathematics and teaching from The College of the Holy Cross and Stony Brook University, respectively, volunteers her time and talents to further children’s causes. In addition to volunteer work at the St. Joseph School, Paula is a passionate supporter of the Oxalosis and Hyperoxaluria Foundation (OHF) and the NYU Winthrop Child Life Program. As the proud mother of 4th grader, Brooke and 1st grader, Claire, Paula is very happy to serve as co-treasurer for St. Joe's.

Kathryn Rafferty, VICE PRESIDENT

Kathryn was born and raised in Morristown, NJ. She attended the University of Vermont and received her masters in early childhood/elementary education at Bank Street College of Education. She taught Pre-K at The Garden House School of New York from 2002-2008. Kathryn and her husband Michael, who who graduated from St Joe's in 1983, moved to town in 2010. They are proud parents to Aidan, age 8 and Ryan, age 7. Kathryn co-chaired the Fall Festival for two years and just last year co-chaired the Queen of Hearts Luncheon. She is looking forward to continuing her work with SJS, and the wonderful families that make being a part of this school community so special and unique. 

VICTORIA SPINELLI,  CO-President

Catholic education has always been very important to Victoria. She is a proud alumna of Kellenberg Memorial High School and graduated from St. John's University with degrees in mathematics, early childhood and special education. She also holds a Masters degree in School Administration. Victoria has served as a NYC public school teacher for 16 years.  She and her family quickly found a new home at SJS when her three children transferred here three years ago. Victoria has served as a class parent, co-chaired the children’s Christmas boutique and the SJS 5K/Fun Run. She has held positions on the PTA Executive Board as Secretary and Co-Treasurer. She is looking forward to continuing her work this year as PTA Co-President.


























































JENN THELIAN, SECRETARY

Jenn, whose son is entering the first grade at SJS, is originally from Southern California and a proud alumna of the Marlborough School for girls and Pomona College. 
She relocated to New York City to pursue her graduate degree in Design at the Pratt Institute, and then moved to Long Island with her husband, John. He is an alumni of St. Paul's in Garden City and Hofstra University.
After over 10 years of full-time work in Advertising, Jenn is thrilled to contribute her skills and energy to the uniquely caring academic community of St. Joseph's in 2016-17.
